(protected designation of origin) meaning it’s produced, processed and prepared in a specific geographical area, no more, no less, using the recognized know-how of local producers and ingredients from the region concerned. In this case Greece and the island of Crete. Koroneiki olives are small but deliver a healthy punch. Rich in vitamins, minerals and phenolic compounds, which are the chemical substances found in plants that may reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer.
