Description
Jalapenos are a distinct genetic group with no close sisters that are directly derived from jalapenos. They were used by the Aztecs prior to the Spanish conquest. The use of peppers dates back thousands of years, including the practice of smoking some varieties of peppers in order to preserve them. Popularly picked and consumed while still green, they are also allowed to fully ripen and turn red, orange, or yellow. It is wider and generally milder than the similar Serrano chile. Use how you like adding to soups, stews, sauces, dressings, and condiments. Sold diced to preserve quality of freshness. Grind down if needed.
