Description
Calabrian Chiles are a go-to chile for Italian cuisine. The official name is Peperoncino Calabrese. There are skinny sigaretta, cone shaped naso de cane, and round carasella to name other verities. Simple red pepper flakes, usually chile de arbol, are an easy substitute and similar heat but they can’t add the unique fruity flavor that is a Calabrian chile. Use in everything Italian from pasta to pizza and or sauces. After handling chiles was hands with soap and water.
